How it works

Methodology

Real astronomy, honestly applied. Here is what powers your fated dates.

What we compute with
  • Ephemeris — Swiss Ephemeris, a high-precision astrological ephemeris based on NASA JPL planetary data. No approximations.
  • Zodiac — Tropical (season-based), the Western standard.
  • Houses — Placidus, falling back to Whole Sign above the polar circle where Placidus breaks down.
  • Aspects — the classical Ptolemaic set: conjunction, sextile, square, trine, opposition.
  • Bodies & points — the ten planets, the lunar Nodes (True Node), and named points — Mean Black Moon Lilith, Chiron and Juno — for fated signatures.
How a birthdate is scored

The frozen core scores real ephemeris contacts between your natal chart and a chart cast for each candidate birthdate. Each date is averaged over six evenly spaced candidate birth times rather than one arbitrary noon assumption, and every birthdate in the selected year is calculated before the list is chosen. Neighboring strong dates are treated as one period, with only its representative date shown; this avoids repeating the same slow-moving pattern and is why different years can return different numbers of dates. The same versioned rules are applied to every reading; the result is not an event probability or promised outcome.

A worked example

Take a birthdate that ranks highly — say 14 May 1994. It scores well because the chart of someone born then makes several close contacts to yours: their North Node on your Venus (within about a degree), their Saturn trine your Sun (within about two degrees). Tighter contacts, and contacts to more personal points, lift the score; a birthdate whose chart makes only wide or minor contacts stays low. A Node-or-Saturn touch to a personal point is exactly the kind of Ananke signature we mark as fated.

Illustrative — your real dates come from comparing your own chart against a chart for each birthdate.

Included / not included
Included
  • Ranked birthdates from the chosen year
  • Lunar Nodes, Saturn and Pluto contacts
  • Ananke signatures (tight fated contacts)
  • Hour-level birth-time bands
Not included
  • A full natal personality reading
  • Horary or electional work
  • Medical, legal or financial prediction
  • Any claim of guaranteed events

The exact orbs, weightings and normalization curve behind the score are proprietary and frozen for consistency across every reading. New to the terms above? See the Glossary.
