How Roots works

How the tree-planting add-on works

When you buy a deep reading in the app, you can add an optional amount to it. Anankeastro adds the same amount, and the total buys reforestation you can check. Skipping costs you nothing and changes nothing about the reading.

Planted so far

Nothing yet. The count appears here once the first batch is bought, and it comes from Ecologi rather than from us.

Where the money goes

You pay Google Play. Google takes its fee. What reaches us, plus the same amount again from us, buys trees from Ecologi. We publish nothing you cannot check against their record.

What this is, exactly

Ecologi is a B Corp — a company, not a charity. So this is a purchase, the way hosting is a purchase. It is not a donation, it is not tax-deductible, and no receipt exists for you to claim. Anyone telling you otherwise about a scheme like this is worth doubting.

Why nothing happens immediately

Orders can be refunded for a few days, so nothing is bought until that window closes, and then once a month in one batch. Whatever is left over after whole trees are bought is not kept — it waits and joins the next batch.

Refund Policy

Two things we will not pretend

The count only goes up. If an order is refunded after its trees are bought, we absorb it rather than quietly subtracting from a number you already saw.

Google Play sets prices per country, so the percentage is approximate outside the United States. What is exact is the share of what you actually paid — that is what we match and spend.

What you will not find here

No progress bar, no countdown, no total we are asking you to help reach. Nothing here is trying to make you feel behind.
